Golf
"Spectacular" describes the scenery on every one of the 18 holes of our challenging Par 72 Championship Golf Course, which is serenely nestled against the mountainside. The golf course and grounds are beautifully maintained and manicured by USGA Superintendent Edward Maassmann & his staff. This course was designed by USGA Architect Nicholas Psiahas. Also new for 1999 will be our own Golf Academy. You can learn or improve your game under the expert supervision of Peter Maassmann, PGA Golf Professional & Director of Golf. Lessons will be given on a 4:1 ratio by Peter and his staff of PGA Golf Professionals only. Private and Semi-Private instruction will also be available. We feature a full service Pro-Shop, as well as a beautiful rustic Club-House.

Opus 40
Opus 40 is a monumental environmental sculpture rising out of an abandoned bluestone quarry in High Woods, Saugerties, N.Y. Covering more than six acres, it is made of hundreds of thousands of tons of finely fitted bluestone, constructed stone by stone over a period of 37 years. It is all the work of one man: sculptor Harvey Flite. Opus 40 is a total artistic environment. You can walk through, around, and over it, from the deepest recesses of its lower pathways, around the pools and fountains, and up to the nine-ton monolith that is the center and summit of Opus 40. Or you can sit in quiet contemplation of a work of art and its relationship to the grandeur of nature around it.
